Real relationships.
Real change.

Axis Pathways works with children and young people who need additional support. We build programmes around the individual, work closely with schools and families, and stay alongside them for as long as it takes.

A trusted adult makes all the difference

Axis Pathways is a mentoring and intervention company working with schools and families. We support children and young people at any stage, whether needs are just emerging or have been present for some time. Every child gets a programme built around them.

Our work is shaped in close partnership with schools, parents, and anyone else in a child's support network. Together we agree how and where sessions are best delivered to get the most out of the work.

Every programme ends with a written report, co-signed by the school, capturing progress, outcomes, and recommendations for next steps.

Every child is different. Every programme reflects that.

We work across primary, middle, and secondary settings with children and young people whose needs span a wide range. What they have in common is that they need something more than standard provision can offer.

SEMH Needs

Children with social, emotional, and mental health needs who are finding it difficult to regulate, engage, or maintain relationships in school.

Exclusion Risk

Young people at risk of fixed-term or permanent exclusion, or those returning from exclusion who need structured support to reintegrate.

SEND and Complex Needs

Children with autism, ADHD, or other identified needs who require a flexible, patient, and personalised approach to make progress.

Low Engagement

Young people who have switched off from school, are reluctant to attend, or who find it difficult to connect with the adults around them.

Behavioural Challenges

Children whose behaviour is affecting their own learning and that of others, and who need targeted support to build self-regulation and better decision-making.

Vulnerable Young People

Those with involvement from wider services, including social care, CAMHS, or youth justice, who need a consistent and trusted adult alongside them.

Wherever works best for the child

There is no fixed location for our sessions. Every programme is agreed with the school, the family, and anyone else involved in the child's support, and the setting is part of that conversation.

For some children, being in school is the right environment. For others, a change of setting makes a real difference. We work with everyone involved to agree what will give the programme the best chance of success, and we build the delivery around that.

Whatever is agreed, the same standards apply. Full safeguarding protocols, documentation, and reporting are in place throughout.

Three phases. One clear approach.

Every programme we deliver follows the same three-phase structure, regardless of the number of sessions or the setting. This gives each child the time to feel safe, do the work, and finish with something they can take forward.

01

Phase One

Foundations

Getting to know each other, completing the initial questionnaire, and building the relationship. Whatever the setting and whatever the activity, the first priority is always the same. Building trust comes first.

02

Phase Two

Core Work

Sessions are focused on the goals agreed with the school. Each session has a clear theme and activities are built around what interests and engages the child, creating natural opportunities to practise real skills. Time is set aside each session to reflect and connect progress back to school and everyday life.

03

Phase Three

Review and Next Steps

Reviewing progress, celebrating what the young person has achieved, and agreeing on what comes next. The student questionnaire is repeated, the end-of-block report is completed, and a recommendation for next steps is agreed with the school.
